Dear friends, radio and art lovers, colleges and journalists,
After my very successful red radio art project at Museum Boijmans, I continued broadcasting three additional programs from the library of the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (Fonds BKVB), situated on Brouwersgracht 276 in Amsterdam. I rebuilt my vibrant red studio and interviewed even more professionals from various disciplines concerning the topic red. An antenna on the roof meant that, in Amsterdam, they were able to tune in to radio rood on 107,4 FM. Additionally, we streamed the shows on www.radiorood.nl
We went live on Wednesdays the 14th, 21st and 18th of April.
Subjects included:
Menstruation, the myth surrounding the most dangerous poison in the world ‘red mercury’, brothels in the Red Light District, Viennese philosophy, Albanese communism, traditional paint production, religion, the history of slavery, red in gay emancipation, skin diseases such as Rubella (derived from the Latin, meaning ‘little red’, or in Dutch Rodehond), the sound of Bloody Mary’s and the Fonds BKVB, who again made all of this possible.
Artists and art historians inspired by red declared red art, and musicians and music practicing artists (some of which are represented on the red vinyl gramophone record) performed: from singer songwriters via punk and classical music to German Socialist songs.

Donald Beekman played his bass guitar longer then designing typos. With fellow designers he formed a band named WOLFRAAM.
Roy Tjin, Surinam photographer en Jungle specialist told us about the red myth of redskin people (indians).
Sven autodidact piano player who let his red feelings via the keypad resound.
Annette Hildebrand accompanied by the piano sang for us classic and socialistic German songs.
Amelie Rousseaux singer-songwriter from Paris, came over especially for radio red.
Jesse Broekman, performs with internationally fellow musicians.
Fredie Beckmans is an artist, curator and initiator of the worstclub.nl
Koen Scherer was originally remedial / behavioral scientist. But whether such a beautiful background a great piano improvisation artist and musician.
Aldo Kroese & Louiza Kaimaki mixed media/interdisciplinair artist. Especially for the last radiorood broadcast a famous red coctail in mind. With much noise he & she prepared 60 Bloody Mary's Cocktails.

RADIOKUNSTWERK RADIO-ROOD
Welkom op de Radio Rood website. Het is een kunstwerk, ik leg het even uit.
Als kunstwerk heb ik rondom het thema Rood uitzendingen gemaakt, uit een nagebouwde en werkende radiostudio op ware grootte met o.a. microfoons, stoelen, asbakken, wijnglazen, pennen, platendraaiers, kasten vol singeltjes, versterkers, snoeren, opnameapparatuur & mengpaneel dat ik als een sculptuur gebouwd heb.
Zoiets kon je hier ongeveer horen:
De uitzendingen vonden eerst plaats in studio Rood gebouwd in het Museum Boijmans. Vervolgens maak ik uitzendingen uit de Bibliotheek van het fonds BKvB te Amsterdam. Alle geluiden waren aan rood gerelateerd. De rode lap die de stier wild maakt, of het rode hoofddoekje dat Roodkapje droeg, het verhaal van de vermiste Red Baron, bij de vijzel een hoorspel over dodekop verf, waarom staat waarschuwing voor gevaar gelijk aan rood, het Rode Kruis = Henri Dunant, de eerste vredesnobel prijsdrager en beeldend kunstenaar.
Het was te horen hoe ze in studio Rood twijfelden of ze het nu vandaag zullen hebben over het verhaal van het hemdje dat gedragen werd door Rosa Luxemburg, of over de geschiedenis van de aardbei.
Dit was live in de ether & gestreamd eerst vanuit Kunstmuseum Boijmans Van Beuningen, daarna vanuit het fonds BKvB te Amsterdam http://www.fondsbkvb.nl/nieuws/actueel/2010/04/6283_moritz_ebinger.php hoorspelen, interviews, gesprekken, muziek, Punk, experimenteel, sex, vrije geluiden, improvisatie, elektro, techno, composities etc.
Gedurende het project was ik zelf onderweg om mensen te interviewen. Daarnaast heb ik beeldende kunstenaars, schrijvers, radiovakmensen, muzikanten en wetenschappers uitgenodigd om te participeren en een bijdrage te leveren rondom ROOD. Ben je ook bezeten van rood? Koen Scherer is van origine orthopedagoog/gedragswetenschapper. Maar ongeacht deze achtergrond een prachtige piano improvisatieast.
